Beta site update [Feb. 02 - 2012]

Hi Eclipse Fans!

I just updated the beta site with a preview of some of the features coming in the next eclipse update!

New features to look for:

• Widescreen thumbs
• Updated title overlay (on thumbs)
• Updated member panel (play page).  The panel is now hidden by default.  When shown, the thumbs are now much larger and widescreen.
• Updated Related Videos (play page)

The updates offset the improvements.

Hi Shawn,

I really like the new features!   

Now for a little feedback:

1) Like the new widescreen thumbs. It makes better use of 'real estate'. Aesthetically, I find it a little more pleasing from a design perspective.(Now PHPmotion just has catch up - 'Auto detect the video dimensions.').

2) Like the subtle change in the thumb overlay, it increases visibility against the background. Just a personal preference, but I would go for a left border on the duration stamp, as well as a top border.

3) Like the new member panel. Now to get greedy, a possible scroller sometime in the future?

4) Like the new styling on the related videos on the play page. You might need to check the styling in the latest Google Chrome and Safari.

Again greedy, maybe sometime in the future - something like the new Youtube expand login/member profile expand box?

Yeah, I love the way the wider thumbs look too!  Agreed on the converter needing updating

I've been debating on whether to add a left border or not... I'll give it a try with the left border thanks

Eventually it'll have a scrolling feature.  Probably wont make this update but I definitely plan to make it scrollable in the future!

boy was that quick:

I did check after I updated the beta site.  Most of the issues in chrome/safari should be fixed now.

It's looking OK at my end now! 

Eclipse is really moving with the times!
